When you were young...

Brian and I were talking last night about how gullible we were when we were kids. First we started talking about how literal we took things. For example... When someone said he's in the "mission field" I thought it meant that some one was in a field waiting to go on a mission. Brian said the his dad would always say "how goes the rat race" Brian thought that there was a Rat Racing operation going on... I also thought when some one said they were "tied up at work" that they were actually tied up to their chair! Don't even get me started on the phrase Layed off... It was just a fun conversation and we were laughing our heads off. It's so nice to be married to someone I can Laugh with! I also had a babysitter that would lie to me with things like "if you leave the nintendo on when we go to the store our house will blow up" or "if someone waves at you with only 3 fingers that means they're going to kid nap you..." What a mean babysitter huh! Let me know if we're the only kids that thought like that... Share your stories

Becky my dear! You are the cutest! I miss you! I do have a story about the mission feild. I had a friend that in primary always shared a story about faith- and how her dad lost his contact in the mission feild. He prayed and found it! I always pictured him working in a feild a tractor in the distance,..when he suddenly realized he couldn't see. So in my mind I saw him digging in the dirt till he found it. Wierd I know.

I can't really think of a story exactly like that, but my problem is that my dad calls things by the wrong name on purpose all the time (and I knew it was wrong), so now I have to really concentrate to make sure I say the right thing! For example, my dad calls geraniums "geronimos"; in the song when you say "walkin in a winter wonderland" my dad has ALWAYS said "walkin round in women's underwear", and I honestly have to concentrate so hard to make sure I don't say that when I sing that song!!

OH!! I just thought of a really good story! I remember as a kid asking my mom why my hair did this funny thing by my bangs, (a cowlick) and my dad told me that when I was a baby my mom let a "cow lick" me there and it messed up how my hair grew. I believed that for so long, because he was so serious and straight-faced!

My brothers told me that our mean neighbor Mitch's name was a swearword. So they talked me into witch with a B and it was totally okay to say that word. So I went around saying B***** cuz they had me convinced that Mitch was a swearword.gullll abbble!!

I used to think that when my parents went to the temple to do temple work that they were actually working there. I imagined them vacuuming and washing the walls and painting and making the temple all nice lol silly.
Oh and I used to think that in order to go to the temple, everything had to be white, even your hair ;)
