Sledding

In between Christmas and New Years we got together with Jane and Vance to go sledding. Dax ADORES his little friend Jane and they get along so well

When the sled would stop they would roll off and continue rolling down the hill. They made Brian or Vance come to the bottom of the hill each time and pull them back up.

It was so nice to have snow to be able to go sledding! Hopefully next year Faith and I can join in on the fun.

Christmas 2012

Christmas is so much fun with kids. This is the first year that Daxton grasped the concept of Santa. He asked the Jolly fella for a blue Tractor. Santa delivered! He also got a tool bench. Faith was so fun also she got a learning table.
Brian was also good enough to get all the seasons of Gilligans Island on DVD and I got my Favorite perfume in my stocking.
Faith has always been a daddys girl, and will snuggle right up to him. When we were enjoying the festivities at grandma and grandpas house, she decided to just chill with Daddy.
Dax loved his tool bench and played with it all day
Grandpa Robert stopped by in the afternoon to drop off gifts! It's always a pleasure to see him!
Dax LOVED opening gifts and would shout what each one was after it was opened. Then he often posed for a picture. I sure love this little guy!
One night before Christmas, I was teaching Dax about the nativity. I would point to each of the people involved and ask who they were. When I got to a wise man, I said who is this? He shouted SANTA!!! I guess he did have a beard.

Preparing for Mr Claus

Getting ready for Christmas was a big deal this year! Daxton is starting to understand who Santa Claus is and why we celebrate the birth of our Savior. He loved decorating the Christmas tree and putting the treats in our Christmas countdown.

This kid HATES wearing clothes! He gets dressed at LEAST 4 times a day. He insists on having ALL of his clothes off when he goes potty. Thats when I caught him decorating before he got dressed again... Oh Dax...

At the beginning of December we had a Christmas party at Greg and Tiffs house. Grandpa Glade had the magic touch and got Faith to sleep. That little girl is sooo picky about who holds her and especially who puts her to sleep (she LOVES her crib and insists on being in it when she sleeps) She let this sweet man feed her a bottle and she actually slept for quite awhile in his arms. I guess she knows what a great guy he is!
Dax and I built a Ginger Bread house at the party.. Pretty impressive huh? :)
We also got a chance in early December to eat Breakfast with the big guy himself!
Faith was a big fan of Jolly old St. Nick...
Dax wasn't quite as big of a fan though. He did have a chance to tell Mr Claus that he wanted a blue tractor though and he was happy to receive a candy cane too.

Most of our Christmas activities were early in the month so we had a chance to relax and enjoy the season this year. It was such a nice relief.

Growing up!

A couple days before the previously posted snow storm, I decided to take our kids to the Temple for some pictures. Ever since the open house, Dax has been asking to go see the lions in the Temple. I’m pretty sure there is a picture in there with lions or wild animals of some sort! Since the Temple has been dedicated, we had to settle for just going to the Temple grounds. The kids loved the fountain.

These two kiddos are growing so fast! They love each other so much and already know how to push each others buttons. If one is taking a nap, the other can’t wait till the sleeping one wakes up. Dax has a hard time sharing his toys and Faith pulls Daxtons hair whenever he is arms reach. Being these cute kids’ mom has brought me so much true JOY. It is also the hardest job I have ever had! But as I look at these pictures, I realize it’s the most rewarding job I’ll ever have.

Once there was a Snowman

We had our first big snow storm of the year a couple weeks ago. Brian was so excited to come home and build a snowman with Dax! As soon as Dax heard he had a chance to go out in the snow he was so excited! He didn’t want to wait for daddy to come home so we got his snow clothes on and he went out and made foot prints in the snow until dad could get home from work. Faith and I watched the snowman building from the toasty van. I think it turned out fantastic! wouldn’t you agree?

Day 20

Day 20: I’m thankful for talents. Both mine and others that are shared with me. I’m thankful that where my talents lack, other peoples talents can pick up the slack!

Day 19

Day 19: Support. Ok, ok, not that kind of support (although I am thankful for it, but it’s not my post for today) I’m so thankful that I have such a great support system in my life. Whether it be my sweet husband, my mom, grandmas, sisters in law or wonderful friends, I have so many people to go to, to help me through sticky and fantastic situations in my life!
THANK YOU ALL!!!
