Crib Question....

As you all know we're expecting a baby boy this August.
Well I'm shopping for a crib and I think this is my fave... There are HUNDREDS to look at! They're all online not in person so that makes it hard to know if I'm making a good choice. Anywho, I have a question for you moms out there. There are two options for the front side of cribs. Stationary or the kind that slide down. This one is stationary... Is that Good, Bad or does it even matter? Will the kid climb out as soon as he can reach or is that a problem with both... or Neither? Maybe I'm over thinking this but a little advice/input would be nice. Thanks! PS We have a name picked out.... I'll let you know in the near future! :)

Ok, so I'm not a mom but I still had to comment.... That crib is so cute!!! Did you see the circle cribs? I love those. It's the kind I want to get someday. ;) And what a tease!!! You say you have a name picked but don't share???!!

Very cute! I had a movable side with James and now I have a stationary side with London. I like the stationary side way more! Less troubles and work. As your baby gets taller you just lower the mattress so he can't fall out. That being said - This is Brian's baby, so I'm not sure any device will contain your little one once he gets moving. ;) Good luck! Shopping for your baby is so much fun!!!

I'm sure that J has some things to share as well, but I'll start. Dre's crib has the front adjusting side so that it drops down. It has been nice for putting him to bed at night - (push it down to put him in and then pull it up to keep in him) and it was a nice feature when he was really little. But his crib is tall and I'm short...

Beck I am so happy and excited for you and Brian. You're going to be the cutest little Mom. About the crib. I LOVE that one. Carlee had a front adjusting side on hers and I don't think that I ever, not even once, used it. However, we did move her mattress down once she got a little older. However, she started sleeping with us once she was older too so didn't use her crib all that much. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT make that mistake. NEVER let your kid sleep with you. If we can ever get #2 here we will NOT make that mistake again. Now I need to figure out how to get her in her own bed. See the questions are only beginning (with the crib). Good luck. We'll make sure to stay updated with your blog. Lots of love. -Ash

My crib is the adjustable one, I only used it about 4 times. It was more annoying then usefull. You just move the mattress down as the baby gets bigger. Tell Brian that Michel said to stop being a cheapskate and buy you one of everything. I loved going shopping for baby stuff. I still like to look at the baby stuff and my baby will be 3 on Saturday. Just enjoy everything because it goes by way to fast.

When Annie was a baby, we didn't use the crib until she was about 9 months old. We had the mattress up to high and she fell out. I never put her back in.
Brookelin was in a playpen because I was still too scared to have a baby get hurt.
Brielle is in a crib. The side comes down. I love it. The mattress is still up high but she's not sitting up or anything yet.
I have used a bassinet with all of them until they are a few months old. The one I have has wheels on it and I can use it all over the house. Good luck! I'm so excited for you.

LOVE the crib!! Love love! No advice on adjustable or not, but by the sound of other comments, you are good with the stationary. ;) Can't wait till the little guy gets here!
